About Quak

Announcements for your Sonos, made in Koblenz, Germany.

What Quak is

Quak turns the Sonos speakers you already have into a voice for your home or your business. A text read by one of over 1,000 voices, what you say into your phone, a sound or your own clip: Quak plays it on the rooms you pick, quietly ducking the music and bringing it back afterwards. It works from the web app, the apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad, the terminal, Slack, a REST API and AI assistants, all on the same account and the same speakers.

Who builds it

Quak is built by Mike Lieser in Koblenz, Germany, with an unhealthy love for detail. There's no ticket system and no bot between you and the people who make it: emails to hello@quak.party are read by them, and good ideas end up on your speakers. The legal details are in the legal notice.

Why it's called Quak

Quak is what a duck says in German: short, loud, impossible to miss. And party? Announcements should be fun, with robot voices, stadium crowds and a party horn, and everyone's invited: like an old party line, one speaks and everyone hears.

How it treats you

Quak runs on servers in Germany. Texts and audio are kept 24 hours at most, just long enough to replay them, and quiet hours keep the speakers silent when they should be. You start free with credits and pay only for what you use, by plan or by pack; 1% of purchases goes to carbon removal through Stripe Climate. More in the privacy policy and on the pricing page.
